Mugello MotoGP: CRT speed too slow, says Casey Stoner

Reigning world champion Casey Stoner has expressed concerns about the speed of the CRT machinery on fast tracks like Mugello after he tangled with Italian rookie Danilo Petrucci in practice earlier today. Several riders have been critical of the speed differential between the factory prototypes and the CRT machines, which use highly tuned production-based engines like Honda’s CBR1000RR and BMW’s S1000RR. Today...

Stoners right & wrong

I agree with Stoner on the speed of the CRTs if they are here to stay then the difference in speed needs to be addressed. I do believe there are 1000cc bikes sitting in showrooms that could best that 188mph on that huge straight. Development will close the gap but better riders would help to. As for the clash on track I would say Stoners temper got the better of him there was a definite push from Stoner and that can only end badly if the CRT guys are going as fast as they can then they can't do any more, Stoner should apologise and with a temper like that maybe think about a career in boxing.

In one fell swoop HRC just killed CRT's

with the promise of a customer spec RCV213. For this Uncle Carmelo should be applauded. Especially if his 'nephew' ends up being at the head of the queue.

What I'm looking forward to hearing though is Aprilia bringing out a bespoke GP engine for their ART, without the compromise weight baggage their road based thing carries.

Uncle Carmelo

doesn't give a flying fuck how the circus performs (with the exception of his rather sickly nephew), he just wants performers in his three ring circus to give the illusion of health, grandeur and competitive racing. In this respect HRC might just be giving him the biggest leg up of all.

strange

that its always stoner moaning about slower bikes.
have not heard lorenzo pedrosa or any others complaining as much.
The CRT bikes are on track(motogp riders are aware of this) and the riders are doing their best. They still manage 195mph down the straight!
Other riders allow for them and give them consideration where as stoner loses the head and is very aggressive
should be penalised severely as he has not learned his lesson.

Absolutely no excuse for that kind of behaviour

Whether Petrucci held up stoner or not, 2 wrongs do not make a right. stoner is the first to complain about other people riding in what he deems an unsafe manner, so to watch him deliberately ram Petrucci is dangerous, disgusting and highly hypocritical. Its also not the first time this has happened. I distinctly remember stoner kicking out at somebody not too long ago for some minor infraction.

The sooner stoner leaves Motogp the better, and safer the sport will be.

'strange

The second paragraph begins.........'Several riders have been critical of the speed differential between the factory prototypes and the CRT machines,'...... Maybe a concentration lapse after the effort of the first paragraph?

Not too happy 'again' with Casey from all i've read re- the incident. I've not seen the footage but having read many post's here it seem's he's overreacted. Roll on 'Quali'.

And 'wosi'

Stop banging on about Stoner retiring at 26 and being ungrateful to 'the sport'. So could JT.

John Terry has been one of the biggest misfits in ANY sport for the past few years or so and got lucky again today. 'Glasshouses' bud?

understand english please

yes I know other riders talk about the speed differential but theses riders complain off track but when on track they make adjustments for CRT riders something stoner cant seem to do.

supermario is right the sooner he leaves the better.
downright dangerous.
