10 year old Supercorsas

My Gixer 750y has been laid up since 2002. The tyres fitted are Pirrelli Supercorsas, soft front and intermediate rear which wer ragged to the edges on a track day back then. They still look like they have another track day left in them but I have read somewhere that the compound hardens and they work less well. This combined with modern tyre improvements makes me desire new rubber and I am considering the latest Avons or pirreli's to make my track comeback. I have been riding road bikes all the way through but my Gixer will now be my track day bike as life is to short not to do it! Any advice or comment  welcome. Alby

Rubber

perishes over time, so I agree with ally6 - sling them tyres, and also check any rubber hoses for damage too.
