Mugello MotoGP: Lorenzo eases to victory

Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo extended his championship lead today, dominating at Mugello to win by over five seconds. Lorenzo took advantage of Dani Pedrosa running slightly wide at the first corner to lead from start to finish. Pedrosa finished second, but was unable to keep up with his compatriot. Tech 3 Yamaha rider Andrea Dovizioso claimed his fourth podium finish of the season...

Don't worry, Rossi is only 11secs behind. He'll be fighting with Lorenzo soon.

Sure I'll get flack for this but who cares

Stoner showed his true colours today, when the chips are down try and break Bautista's shoulder... Meanwhile Rossi showed his, as ever working towards a race setup and came home first factory rider, steadyily hauling the ducati up the grid. Could have been better if Cal had ridden more maturely, got behind rossi for a few laps and then they could have all tussled for the podium. Still good race in my books

PRESSURE

The cracks are really beginning to show with Casey. Just as i said they would at the beginning of the season, The dummy has really come out the pram thius weekend and the move he put on Bautista appeared deliberate or desperate . Thats the 2nd time this weekend he has tried to take some one out. Its about time the stuards did something about it before some one gets seriously hurt. Come on Casey you are better than that.

Lorenzo was again the class act.Danni had a really solid ride. the same with Dovi . But to me the rider of the day was Rossi. He was under pressure from Cal most of the race took his chances when they came didnt put a wheel wrong  ending up a good  5th

Strange weekend

But its starting to highlight afew things IMO.

The electronics are playing far too big a part in everything these days. Launch control, the bikes getting confused as to where it is on the track and either cutting out, or not given enough (or too much) power.

Thats leading to some of the desperate overtaking manuverses that are becoming more common. Again IMO Crutchlow appears to have been faster then riders in front of him with his corner speed, but is unable to get past ,with the elctronics neutering how much power all the bikes are putting down.. Ditto for others too.

No it will never be the same until  the bikes are truly controlled by the riders right wrist again.

Spies had food poisoning according to Elbowz. He'd been naughty and his mum wouldnt let him have bittie, so he paid for an old Italian whore and it upset his tumtum.

To be fair to cal in the second half of the race rossis pace was as good as anyone's. There is nothing wrong with his bikes power though.

Stunning race for a rookie, get racecraft and definately the one to watch for the future.

If there was one place this season Ducati would be closer to the pace it was today at their home test track.

Crutchlow, just looks abit inexperienced at that level. The pace is there despite whatever the haters want to say, maybe he just needs to not be so nice and barge his way through, if its good enough for the aliens, why not do the same to them.
