Mugello MotoGP: Lorenzo eases to victory

Yamaha rider Jorge Lorenzo extended his championship lead today, dominating at Mugello to win by over five seconds. Lorenzo took advantage of Dani Pedrosa running slightly wide at the first corner to lead from start to finish. Pedrosa finished second, but was unable to keep up with his compatriot. Tech 3 Yamaha rider Andrea Dovizioso claimed his fourth podium finish of the season...

Spies n Hayden the new Spaniards

they only keep their jobs because they bring big sponser money and are marketable in their own country( just like Checa , Xaus etc) .Its looking like Spies will kep his factory ride and Hayden has got very infuencial people backing him at Ducati .Which means all of this leaves Cal without a ride next year , it could be a reality oh yes !

Milky.....

Yawn, yet another mind-numbingly predictable post. Ironic how you say the guy should finish high school, followed by an all too eager post consisting of 'baboon man' and 'viva la shit pig'. What a rhodes scholar we have on our hands here.

As for the race itself:
JL - supreme, loved the last lap wave to Ducati corner.
DP - outstanding, firming as the only challenger to JL's tilt.
AD - 3 podiums in a row on a satellite machine is a mammoth effort, class.
SB - gutsy ride, has what it takes, will be a star on the right bike.
VR - good ride, 3 or 4 more laps and podium beckoned.
CC - as per VR, nice to at least see no mistakes, run-offs etc (poor start aside). Bet he's screaming for a tad more top end speed.
NH - super ride, unlucky not to be top Ducati and/or podium.
CS - shocker of a weekend. 37 pts adrift, 9 races to go and you'd have to think JL will take out at least 2 or 3 of them. Title defence on a knife's edge. He downplayed his Sachsenring DNF when asked about it last week, but may well be a potential title-deciding moment when looking back in 6-8 weeks time.

I can't be the only one to have noticed this year is shit! only 12 prototypes and you can count out abraham & berbara straightaway as also rans, So really you guaranteed a top ten finish if you stay on so bradl's & cals results aren't really that great, where else can they finish? the ducati aren't working this year and bautista is always good for 8th-9th or 3rd from last! the top 3 are sorted in every race aren't they? so really your looking at a battle for 4th to 8th there the only places available, having watched grand prix for 40yrs, this year is not a vintage year at all.... quite disappointing

Repeat of 2008. Stoner fantastic the first year of the 800's then couldn't follow up the next. Change to 1000's same thing. Bizarrely both years Yamaha have not only caught up but surpassed. Do wish Rossi had not made the move to Ducati he should beat the pointy end of things. Also that pass by stoner was disgusting what would his actions have been had the roles been reversed? Idoubtrace direction would have let it pass either!

Another 4 or 5 laps would have been good, think we would have seen a good battle for the podium between 4 or 5 riders :P Still Mugello always seems a bit special no matter what, would love to track day there !!!

Shazbot!

Notofthisearth, you might also notice other similarities with '08! The tyre debacle maybe? Not that bizarre to earthlings ya dickhead.

If Stoner knew it was inevitable that he was gonna get passed by a clearly quicker rider, I'd say he'd be well aware that if he continued to block and slow that rider, he could expect a little love tap and be shown his place. Grow a fkn set mate.

And I bet you wish Florence hadn't moved to Ducati! Maybe then you wouldn't have realised what a mediocre pussy he is and what a great bike yamaha produce.

Nice comment superbol...

glad to see a post that doesn't involve he's the best and he's shite etc etc, yes the mighty marketing dollar is still the driver of motogp and will dictate who rides what next year.......and what Malaysian sponsors appear.

The other top riders would have passed Bautista who was a second a lap slower without thinking about it. Rossi passed half a dozen bikes a on a turd and the other bikes barely notice. Wasn't worthy of punishment(though Marquez would have got a penalty) its more about caseywhining about that kind of thing and clearly it was a barge born of the red mist nothing to do with a slight mid judgement by two riders at full chat. It's too subtle for many but true non the less. Hard to give any credibility to those who comment about the halfwit hypocrit being the only one who tells it like it is... Last time I looked saying he's sorry but saying Bautista cut him up?? (are you for real moaner??) isn't an apology.. Casey and his band of merry tight wearing 'men' would have more credibility if he just said yep I was over the top. Rossi would have been slaughtered for such a move..
