Melandri Double win at Brno

Marco Melandri  scored a double today.  Winning the second  race of the weekend at Brno. Melandri made a final pass on Tom Sykes in the final lap with just enough space  on the final few corners to make sure the Englishman would finish second, by only 0.140 seconds.  Carlos Checa finished in  third place  with championship leader Max Biaggi ) in fourth. Eugene Laverty took fifth. In...

Melandri is a great but I SOOO want someone to pull a move like he does on other riders and give him a taste of his own medicine (ram him off track Leon, you owe him 2 BIG ones now)! Tom Sykes, brilliant! All 4 of us were shouting at the screen on the final lap. Seems you guys got the tyre longevity sorted, so let's see you get a win very soon mate. Top Job! Bet Biaggi is shitting himself now!

Melandri is a fighter.

Good on Melandri.  Like him or loathe him, the guy still has the fire in his belly.  After what Prezzo did to him at Ducati (made him go a and see a shrink because he told him the inability to ride that pig of a Desmo was all in his head), he has held on to his desire.  And yes, made a couple of crazy moves, but he's still a talent.  Damn right about Haslam handing it back to him.... he just needs to do it.  Don't wait too long big L, loving the competition right now.

Top Tom

Tom rode brilliantly, he's got the race pace now and he made Marco work for that win in the 2nd race, but Marco has now got his sights on the title , and the only thing hotter than him is that girl friend  of his Hoooo.

WSBK how good is it

How good is it.

Think about it, BMW didn't have an i4 engine let alone a race team a few years back. Motogp want to know whats wrong with motogp easy peasy and BMW have just recently told them and shown them whats wot.

Sure BMW have sunk some dough into its WSBK assualt but its possible isnt it. Aprilia another noob made the a stunning comeback. Absolutely brilliant to see. Also nice to see Melandri doping so well after the whole ducati "you are a mental case Marco" BS.

Sure it does seem that whoever chucks in the most money will win it but hey at the moment its working, not just new teams, but new manufacturers coming in. Just wish motogp would get their shit together.

Motogp to me seems to not only get it wrong but backwards. This is to say that the cost saving measures end up causing massive costs in other areas. Engine number limits, actually making an engines aint too bad, its the making an engine as powerful as possible plus longevity that costs the big dough. Fuel restriction, big dough making Hp with no fuel, plus the added fun, not, by boring dumbing down of 1000cc engines, stupid stupid stupid.

Prototype sure but make all the tech need to be adaptable to road bikes, no pnuematic valves, no corner by corner mapping. Then all the stuff they use can trickle down to us and increases fan excitement and connection. Its also more likely to be tech that manufacturers like BMW, suzuki Kwaka, Aprilia, KTM, etc outside of motogp might already have some experience with making it easier and more tempting for them to enter motogp.

Electronics (you still see the difference between a good rider and an ok rider, its not like the bike rides itself with electronics) sure but stuff that manufacturers other than Yamaha and Honda will have already or can develop and utilise in their production bikes (great for sales).

Its not that hard for motogp they just have to look to WSBK for what to do.

Honda & Yamaha have pushed the technology so far into esoteric  electronics and other areas that no other manufacturer can feasibly/economically develop or try to develop without craze costs and costs that can't be recouped through their business of selling bikes.

I want Suzuki, Kawasaki, BMW & Aprilia and more into motogp. Imagine how cool that would be.  It sounds like bullshit when you look at all those manufacturers names but it has really happened in WSBK in just a few short years. Remember when WSBK was the just the ducati cup, only ducatis, not that long ago. It may end up that way anyway. If ducati goes, its just Yamaha & Honda, ZZzzzzzzzzzz.

Either that or swap the series around and make WSBK production bikes the top tier.

Oh yeah and please get WSBK on free to air TV to increase the fan base. Yay.

Go WSBK show them the way.

always has been

better than gp's even when ducati did rule, it still was better racing for the fans, more testing and practice and superpole!! they should sort moto gp out i agree, but big mane sponsors agree on this by certain rules, which by rossi terms only get broken when someone cashes in. that is why gp will always be politics. not pure racing.

Thankyou guys for giving us great races to watch! Aragon was great this was better. Congrats to Melandri for the wins.. but even more congrats to TEAM GREEN for going the distance. Tom keep up the great riding, its only a matter of time now. Just think noone wanted to be on that bike, so good on you bro! KEEP showing SNORE-O-GP how its done. Now if Yamaha would get off Jorge's junk and put a WSBK team back together to get another factory team in the mix.. but heck the privateers can be just as good in this class on any given day. GREAT RACES Guys.

Good weekend for Melandri and Sykes

I was hoping Sykes could at least get 1 win but he still had a fantastic weekend. Looks like Kawasaki is on the right road to keeping the tires under the bike for a race distance. Impressive race 1 for Baz as well. Melandri showed speed and skill this weekend. He's taking the fight to Biaggi and the championship race should be exciting until the last race weekend. Speaking of fight, looks like Melandri has all but taken the fight out of Haslam. Considering Melandri has more wins this year on the BMW than Haslam has his whole WSBK career, Marco is making Leon look rather average.
