US MotoGP: Valentino Rossi nearing future decision

Valentino Rossi says he will decide whether to stay with Ducati or make a shock move back to Yamaha in 2013 during the forthcoming short summer break. Speculation about Rossi’s future plans has hit fever pitch in California, particularly after Ben Spies dropped a bombshell earlier this week by announcing he will leave Yamaha at the end of the season. Rossi didn’t...

Have to agree with Jake. " It also a particular moment in my career".....and this is the key. At 33 and just 2 gp titles away from being crowned all time king, he wants that and he wont get it on the Ducati which is a shame because I dont think they are to far away from building a competitive bike, certainly the most powerful but they cant direct it through to the ground just yet. As for Lorenzo, he is 'one' of the best out there, not 'the' best. Maybe he will one day. Get your bets placed for a Rossi double 13-14 You guys can argue til the cows come home about whos best...stoner Lorenzo Rossi etc....if he ends up on the Yam in 13 we will ALL see ! http://youtu.be/V0FSTy7Gu44

Preziosi out of his depth?

Preziosi has a degree in Mechanical Engineering and has designed all the Desmosedici engines from the GP3 to the GP12.  You know, the bike that has won GP's in every year of it's existence from 2003 to 2010, with the exception of 2004. You know, the bike with the stonking engine that won Casey Stoner the title in 2007 - the one Stoner just had to sit on to win. The same basic architectural design (90 degree L vee) as the engine it has today which the likes of David Emmett and you Oompa Loompa's slag off. Although IT jock come hack Emmett has recently backed away a little from his from his comments. You know the engine which remains the fastest thing on the grid today. But is too fast for VR's delicate wrist.

Preziosi out of his depth? No Firebird the turd, that'll be you.

Previ isn't due a total slaying, he did some things right, had the right tyres, the right rider (at a discounted priced), the luck in having Rossi arguing a small matter of a (multi) million euro tax bill to sway his focus.  An injured pedrosa (no surprise) and the luck of having  thunderous horsepower .  Stoner didn't help the development, he's that talented (if not developing a bike is the agenda).  It just so happens, everyone else moved on and Prevvy sat on his fricking thumbs.

Understand that Rossi returning to Yamaha doesnt' guarantee anything,  I'm looking forward to seeing it though.  Will be an epic year (minus the fastest rider on the planet and a cold pie).  Have a nice weekend everyone..!!

Nostro

On another comment, I said the engine was stonking, but what is the point of a good engine without a decent bike. Preziosi should stick to designing engines and let somebody else design the rest of the bike, because as I said, preziosi is out of his depth and so are you if you can't see that.

Firebird's drowning - is he worth saving?

You do know there's more than just Preziosi on the design team. Corse has a host of very talented engineers all with their specialised input.

Nicky reckons the GP12 is the best Ducati he's ridden, and he's a mere middling muddling sort of guy. All in all it continues to reflect badly on the aura of the fallen sun god with the limp wrist.

IF..

Jorge is champ this year beating Dani and Casey is third, what will this tell us about Stoner?

If Rossi goes to Yamaha then beats Jorge next year, what will this tell us about Rossi and who was right or wrong at Ducati?

It is the thought of the above scenario becoming reality that has orange pom pom wavers like Nostro, dancing up and down in uncontrolled rage.

You can almost hear the ratchet clicking as it tightens twisted neck sinews past snapping point. Bulging veins appear in throbbing clumps on temples. Thundering hearbeat takes ear drums to popping point.

Their anguish is palpable..

Haha..good stuff.

Ratchet it up indeed

I hope that Rossi goes back to Yamaha. Clearly many fans find it necessary to blame the tool he has at his disposal,in conjuntion with the 'tool' who designed it.

Of course I want to see him back on the all conquering M1 alongside Lorenzo next year for one reason only. That being that the Preziosi/LD16 bashing will go away in the twinkling of an eye.

Its not likely Preziosi will get much stick should Rossi fail to eclipse Lorenzo on Furasawa's bike.

Here's hoping Rossi weights his decision in favour of accolades past and fond memories of rostrums and Yamaha.

Laguna FP1 should be about underway right now.

Cheers.

Didn't preziosi state that rossi would have new parts and upgrades for laguna, then low and behold they don't materialise.

In the meantime honda build a new chassis and engine.
