US MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo claims pole with record lap

Jorge Lorenzo claimed his third pole position of the season in record-breaking fashion at the spectacular Laguna Seca track in California this afternoon. The Spaniard secured his first pole position since the second round of the 2012 campaign in Jerez with a record lap of 1.20.554, which narrowly beat Casey Stoner’s pole record of 1.20.700 set on a Ducati Desmosedici 800cc...

Interesting point lets see how Vale can do without JB by his side on a competitive machine like the M1.

here's a funny thought

Since vale is going to basically sponser yamaha next year, yamaha should adjust their colour scheme accordingly and make jorge ride around in vales colours with rossis name stamped on the side of the bike. Instead of fiat on the side it could read the doctor or rossi 46 and be painted vales preferred choice of garish yellow!!! Just a thought...

It all depends on how much Yamaha wants Rossi's money. It might be a case of they both have too much to gain, so yamaha might allow Rossi to bring his crew, but he will have to take a big pay cut.

laguna

Every race this year has been between the same three riders.

Same thing will happen tonight.

This is not exciting and the addition of CRT's has made MotoGP even more boring. Roll on next WSB race.

Spies

I see he participated in warm up. If he suffered a concussion (even a slight one) as reported yesterday I don't think he should be allowed to race. One does't recover from a concussion in 24hrs - in some cases it may take weeks to recover from the effects. If he suffered a concussion and is cleared to race I think that this is something that needs to be looked at in the future. Injuring one's head isn't like getting a bum knee or shoulder.

RawDawg remember when Ben collected his first podium he had an ankle injury sustained in a qualifying crash at Silverstone in 2010.
