I am happy that Rossi is going to YAMAHA but I have a question;

Why didn’t DUCATI resurrect the bike that STONER won the 2007 WC with, stick the 1,000cc motor in it and see what ROSSI could do with it.
In 2007, they had the best bike by far.
I think they got too clever and engineered themselves a pig-in-a poke.
Millions spent on Carbon this and Carbon that and many other changes when they had the best bike in the first place!

Put Stoner on Rossis bike for a day

Here's an idea. The day after the last race of 2012 at Valencia, Stoner will have retired so can ride whatever he wants.  Get him to ride Rossi's GP12 round Valencia and offer him a million for every tenth he can get under Rossi's qualifying time 2 days before.  The Stoner & Rossi fans (and Ducati) will see whether the problem is the GP12 or Rossi.  We'd also be able to see just how much quicker Stoner's Honda is from his own qualifying times. They could charge spectators 20 euros each & televise it and the proceeds go to the Marco Simoncelli foundation.  Stoner would be up for the challenge & Vale would know he would need to really try on the Sat. Oh, and for what it's worth, I think Rossi will stay with the Duke for 2013.  His place in history means more to him than anything else so he won't give up for the sake of a few more wins.  I also think it's the bike at fault, Stoner would not be able to beat Rossi's times and would realise Ducati haven't yet fixed the problems which caused him to leave
