Poll: Is Rossi making the right move?

It's looking very likely that Rossi is on the way back to Yamaha. Is he making the right move?

Fk Flo's fans are dumb c****

so now its back to the Ducati Hp advantage...yea cos all Motogp races back in 2007 were 1/4 mile drag strips eh? as Hedgehog5 put it, the Ducati has always been up there in the top speed department, Laguna was no different as Flo was regularly topping the charts before sliding on his arse and his bike flew into the kitty litter!!!

Hayden the president of the Rossi owners club. Hector Barbera Managing Director!!!

Confidence is king

If you have confidence that you can go to the edge of the grip cliff and pull yourself back when disaster looms ... then you can get the absolute maximum out of your bike.  Jorge seems to be in that happy place most of the time; Casey and Dani have good and bad days, and Valentino is in a world of hurt at the moment.

Put all four of them on an M1 and we would have some epic battles, but this is a prototype championship so part of the intrigue and drama is which manufacturer, team and rider can come up with the best package.  Why Ducati is failing miserably in this environment is hard to say - they seem to have all the ingredients but the souffle refuses to rise.

If you could nominate one factor I think tyres are the missing ingredient.  They now work under such a narrow specification and performance range that you have to engineer the bike and riding style around them.  Of the 4 aliens only 2 of them seem to be able to do this consistently, and I don't see that situation changing much next year - there will just be one less alien.

Dear Nostradamus,

I am a Rossi fan, I love the kid since I watched his firts 125cc International Race. Poor Simonceli remind me of him a lot. He was always original, agressive and very kind with the fans and the media. That's why Ezpeleta wants him, MotoGP needs him and everyone is waiting for him to decide where he is going next.

Stoner is an amazing rider and he does amazing things with the Honda. Why? Because he was racing the Duke that is really ankward and when he was given a proper ride, he shined.

Remember this phrase: Valentino will be a much more faster rider now that he will be riding again a normal bike. The Ducati is a very good school because of its character and weeknesses. Again, Stoner rode the Ducati like hell but the Ducati was the fastest and the best bike at the time. Were was Stoner after 2007? 2nd in 2008, 4th in 2009, 4th in 2010 and 1st again in 2011 with HONDA. Obviously the Duke had not changed much since 2008 or at least not at the same pace as the rest.

Isn't Melandri a superb rider? The Duke almost destroyed his career (actually id destroyed his MotoGO career). Hayden is nowere and Capirossi didn't did much after 2008 neither. Gibernau tried it also but nothing.

So I will say it again, no one of the actual riders can achieve 9 World Titles. Vale did it and he has my inmense respect (as well as the rest of the 70% of MotoGP fans).

A point I've made before, it has changed at the same pace as the rest... the thing is it needs to catch-up, so it needs to change at an increased pace, not at the same rate as Yamaha & Honda... & it needs an Alien (as all the bikes do) i.e. someone better than Hayden. Without JL where would Yamaha be these last 3 years? Battling with Ducati.

Battling with Ducati?

With the satelite teams maybe... And if you take out JL, CS and VR it would had win!

The bike is a lump, it cannot been readen at the same pace as the others... Stoner really squized the thing and he didn't manage anything else better than a 4th place in the championship. HOr he wasn't an alien back then? Maybe a Predator?

The other manufactures did not changed at the same pace as Ducati my friend. When the Honda was trying to macth Yamaha's performance, they changed 40 frames in that year? Ducati had to wait 3 races to have an imptoved Carbon Fiber frame and 1 year to change to the aluminum one! Is this the same pace for u? At this level of racing? This is MotoGP not PS3

Flippin' 'eck

we're up to forty frames a year for HRC now. Sounds like they were pit stopping during races for a new chassis. The shite that comes from their mouths.

Melandri himself ruined his GP career. Not mentally strong enough to compete with the young guns. He had a mediorce year on the Kawasaki thing and then moaned his way through another HRC year.

Mods

Forty frames in a year does seem rather a lot, but it doesn't alter the point that Honda/Yamaha wheel out the mods and upgrades far quicker than Ducati and more importantly they are all made 'in house', so the experts in all fields of development are on hand 24/7 and are conversing with one another.

Rossi owned??

If Rossi gets back on the Yamaha, no ones going to be owning him. He loved that bike and he only left because he backed himself in a corner and Yamaha called his bluff. For some reason the Ducati just doesn't suit his riding style, but back on the Yamaha he will be a force to be reckoned with once again.
