Yamaha announce Rossi's return

Valentino Rossi will make a sensational return to the factory Yamaha MotoGP squad after signing a two year deal that will see him line up alongside bitter rival Jorge Lorenzo in 2013 and 2014. The move will see him reacquainted with the Japanese manufacturer where he enjoyed one of the most successful periods of his illustrious career. Rossi first rode for Yamaha...

Stoner does not have the courage to carry on?

If he was languishing about at the back or in the middle and getting crap results then you could argue he might have lost something (bottle, skill, will to win) but he's still contesting for the win every week...To say that someone who rides the bike like he does "doesn't have the courage to carry on"? FFS...

If he's had enough, then fair play to him to retire when he wants to.

People have such short memories - to say that he had it easy as he just had Gibernau to beat is a little ridiculous - Biaggi was there during that era too and is no slouch - still proving it today in WSB.  Rossi has also proven that he was able to beat Pedrosa, Lorenzo and Stoner on a reasonably regular basis in the not that distant past.

Granted the move to Ducati has been a disaster, and I think Jorge is now his match, with youth on his side but to ignore that he has beaten these guys over a couple of seasons is foolish.  I may have to eat my own words at the end of 2013, but I believe that he will consistently beat Pedrosa over the season - with maybe the odd exception such as Sachsenring.

His stock has sunk!..

..this will forever be a dark stain on Rossi's legacy, despite what might happen from here on in. He'll probably win races again and may even win another championship - but none of that will mend his damaged reputation. It's a sad day for the sport.

ERRRRR

In 2011, Rossi’s best result was third meaning that it was the first time he’d failed to win a single race in a season since his GP career began and 2012 does not look like it will be any different. Despite the recent Audi takeover of Ducati and huge efforts to convince Rossi to stay at Ducati and try and fix the issues of the Desmosedici, Rossi could not be convinced to re-sign, dealing a massive blow to the company. ACTUALLY audi that didn't wanted to pay MILLION EURO for shit. and yamaha offer payment more or less like lorenzo. so that's why rossi chose yamaha.
