Yamaha announce Rossi's return

Valentino Rossi will make a sensational return to the factory Yamaha MotoGP squad after signing a two year deal that will see him line up alongside bitter rival Jorge Lorenzo in 2013 and 2014. The move will see him reacquainted with the Japanese manufacturer where he enjoyed one of the most successful periods of his illustrious career. Rossi first rode for Yamaha...

What a surprise !

Well thats two factory Yamahas blocked up for two years ,There may be changes at Honda after a year but It looks very dreary for anyone up and coming ,and boring for the fans ,Lorenzo will still kick Vales sad arse and the friction the spiteful one will cause we will see rear its head again ,But unless Ducati can sort their machine out it looks a dull prospect, however the first thing Ducati should do is put the bike back to original pre pussy spec and get Stoner to sign up as test pilot ,Are you listening Ducati? not a bad idea me thinks

Will Rossi perform better on the M1. Yes he should. Will he be a contender? No chance.

Nos the Rossi hater

Nos your predictions are totally bias and laughable. While Rossi will struggle to match Lorenzos pace he is still a terrific rider. You seem to know are think you know alot more than Lin Jarvis who is one of the shroudest guys in the business . You seem to be a typicle arm chair racer to me some one who talks a good story but when it comes to racing some one like Rossi has more talent in his little finger than you do in your entire body. So unless you can give some good constructive comments i should shut up before you make yourself look any more stupid

Bloodbubble..

..prior to Rossi jumping on the Ducati, his reputation and record was unblemished - he didn't need another championship medal to join the pantheon of the greats, he was already well cemented. He'd achieved a status in the sport that was exclusive to a small band of brothers and was virtually impregnable. The fact he hasn't managed to get to grips with the bike is secondary to the idea that he would! Had he held his nerve and tried to work through the issues with the Duc and finally gained success, no one could question his ability to develop and win on any bike he chose. That myth has now gone and Rossi has now become a mere mortal in the sport, nothing more. This has naff all to do with not liking him ( I do actually! ) but all to do with how history will view him..

rossi's return is good for yamaha and himself but bad for ducati as they look dead in the water now. but i don't think that rossi's return matters cause moto gp is not what it was nor will it be with these crt teams, no suzuki, no kawasaki and most important of all, no stoner who in parrish's and doohan's words is the most entertaining, most talented, fastest rider since sheene and roberts. any wins in the future from anybody will be slightly shallow because of the absence of stoner. i believe rossi (who is one of the greats) and i do like the man will bounce back and has an amazing win/podium/championship record but he never was or will be an aussie stoner.

Funny Funny

Is he good is he bad, reality is he's got 9 world titles (one less than Nostrils) he will pay more tax in one year of retirement than all earnings combined from every contributor on this forum, yet after 2 years of Ducati he is tarnished forever, you think he gives a flying feck what the haters on here think? It's about racing, the horse don't work get a new one, Ducati has one championship but it's a great bike.......what? can't change his style......probably can't probably doesn't want to, why should he? It's about seeing racing...competitive racing that people want to watch. So Usain Bolt changes his Nikes for Pumas and he doesn't win a race......oh well he's useless his career is a failure........ Get a life the haters.

Unlike the Oompa Loompa illiterates

Rossi is nothing if not a realist. Corse wouldn't build him a M1, ergo Rossi couldn't ride the D16. Since his Stoner retirement induced motor mouth spout that he would remain in GP's for two more years dug him a deeper hole, he's had to lean on Uncle Carmelo to hopefully (from his perspective) dig him out of it somewhat.

A couple of years swanning around the fringes with the odd podium cameo will to his mind restore some of his lost lustre. Dreams of surpassing Ago have long since been dashed.

2015 is what he's really waiting for and the chance to knock Biaggi's Zimmer frame from beneath him.

Life goes on, Glentraman.

There are loads of great young riders ready to step up from the lower classes when the likes of Dani, Jorge and Vale check out. That Stoner? guy you mentioned has already got a replacement waiting in the wings. Did the sport die when the likes of Sheene, Doohan, Ago, Scwhantz, Gardner Rainey etc left?
