Casey Stoner slams Valentino Rossi’s Yamaha return

Casey Stoner has criticised Valentino Rossi’s swift return to Yamaha after the Italian legend recently confirmed he will quit Ducati after a disastrous two-year stint with the Bologna factory. The 33-year-old has been a shock failure to perform on board a factory Desmosedici and will return to Yamaha next season to partner bitter Spanish rival Jorge Lorenzo. When Rossi arrived at Ducati...

Rossi lack of perfomance

so please help me on this one, how come everyone else seems to be able to ride the dukes, with the exception of Mr Rossi Rossi, and with some consistantancy in the podium stakes. So whats his excuse gonna be when it all goes tits up on the yamaha as well. Lets face it and be honest here folks, Rossi WAS the best but he has VERY obviously lost the edge and using every excuse he can but blame himself for his lack of success. There are much better riders and lets face it younger riders with sharper skills playing along side. The big question is though DUCATI WHAT THE FECK ARE YOU DOING SAYING IT'S OUR FAULT NOT VALENTINO'S! You have a brilliant machine with not a lot wrong with it, all you need is someone who can actually ride it!

"I want to clarify that. That was a lot of context taken out. It was the whole last year and a half. I never did the interview and never said anything like that last week. I still stand by what I said, but it's been over the last year and a half that it was put together

OK Casey, you're not really that sorry then are you!

sour grapes

"Valentino got his best result in the dry virtually in his first race on the Ducati supposedly with shoulder injuries and I haven't seen any improvement over the past two years and this is disappointing.

It became obvious after a few races that the duke wasn't going to challenge for the title,so rossi and jb asked for changes to be made but ducati decided on what they would be,even as of today they don't have much leeway as of where to position the engine in the chassis.

ducati promised rossi upgrades for laguna and couldn't even deliver an ecu.

stoner gets chatter and honda deliver a completey new engine and chassis.

Bitter Stoner!

As a fan who just likes to see good racing and good riders going at it hammer and tongs, what a bitter, self centred piece of crap Stoner is, what gives him the right to slag off another rider this way, especially one who has 9 world titles on 3 different makes of bike with 2 different engine types. I can remember Stoner when he rode for Honda first time round and he threw that bike down the road more times than I can remember, he then went to Ducati and had the advantage of the best tyres and a rocket of an engine (in a straight line) but held everyone up in the corners until the next straight. Once the others caught up a second world title never came and lo and behold he started to chuck it down the road again, what a blesssing it must have been when he 'left' Ducati. Next year again on the best bike (after many years of development and how many frames?) he won ONLY his second world title, but yet again this year the others have caught up, what now, "chatter, duff tyres, no desire to ride" the mans a joke, yes he can ride BUT only on the best bike. Has he ever had to develop a bike, hell no he wins on the back of others endevours, only then to slag off other riders. Casey be a man, show some respect to other riders and stop your bitter tirades, then you might get some respect back.

Respect?

As you have pointed out NB, respect is a quality which should be used by all but rarely is, which is a shame. However, as pointed out on this tread and in many others, Rossi is also a bloke who has never respected others. The amount of shit he has given his rivals is shocking. What goes around, comes around.
