Rumours rumble on about Triumph making a 350cc single-cylinder bike, perhaps aimed at the Asian market. Should they do it?

There is a demand for them in new riders (amazingly , I don't see the attraction)  I have met. Their next competition is the chinese cruiser market and a lot of these new riders buy based on their wallet size so that might be hard to do , even for a bigger name like triumph (well , bigger than yangshwang or whatever the manufacturers are called)

It is my understanding that as they enter the Indian market they are planning a sub 350cc model, perhaps a Bullet type bike?

They won't do a 125 or 250cc. It's the same reason why they won't do a 1L sports bike. The market is already saturated. The Chinese/Korean etc market have already cornered the market with cheap 125s. Sure not as good as YBRs or CGs, but they're copies and cheap. They'll never get their R&D back and the product will be a sales loss. In this climate they have to play safe and stick with what they know.

There is a gap in the market here for economical and practical bikes Concentrate on economy and an easily maintainable machine. Since the Suzuki DR 650 stopped production there is now a gap in the market..!
