Noise like air escaping?...

Getting the bike down to the garage next week anyway but thought there might be some wisdom to gleam from here.

Got a Suzuki Vs750 and its running very sweet since I cleaned / synced the carbs. Just got a bit of a hissing sound (in time with engine) from the front of the engine somewhere around/inbetween the carb or valve cover along with a smell of petrol (just when running).

Is this more likely to be a crack in the intake manifold or an improperly adjusted valve? (the valve taps a little when bike is cold but gets better when its warm).

Any opinions would be great. Ta!

hissing noise

Either spray a little wd40 around the noisy area, if it gets sucked in, the engine speed will change. Or, get hold of a length of petrol pipe, or similar hose, and use it to listen to the engine when it's running. It''ll soon pinpoint an air leak.

The pipe works! It was definitely a tear in the rubber and not the valves, or mushy peas
