That statement was written by someone with a degree in PR. Cal isn't delighted at all and everyone knows it.

Good boy

You know it makes sense, and Ducati were just covering their arses in case they could not get a half decent rider. Ducati treated Hayden like shit and then shit on Cal, and Cal will do much better on the Yamaha than that Italian pile of plop.

his only real option really

but it does put him out of sync with everyone else that have 2 year deals

and could be a problem if next year doesnt go to plan

Agreed. Not the outcome he was looking for, but at least he is staying in Motogp and he will also love the fact he will be finishing ahead of Dovi.

Good for Cal

Great to see he has secured a decent ride.
He may look back sometime next season and realise things have gone the right way for him.

If rumours are right, Jonny Rea could be on the Gresini Honda next year, he also could be replacing Stoner for the next 2 rounds.

Rumours of replacing Stoner is off Twitter,  but the Gresini thing, they are not happy with Bautista, Haslam is replacing Rea at Honda wsb by all accounts, Rea is employed by HRC and just won suzuka.
