Share your congratulations for Cal Crutchlow

Cal Crutchlow became the first British rider on a MotoGP podium in 12 years with a fantastic third place at Brno on Sunday. His first reponse to the result was to think of British fans, so we thought you might like the chance to return the favour. Post your congratulations for Cal in the messages below and we'll pass them on,...

I think you are twisting the facts against cal, Dovizioso scored two podiums in his first two years in the top class (one was his win in the wet at donington), and in his second year dovi was on a full factory machine. I think cal's doing a great job in only his second season in GP racing (remember he came from superbikes not 125/250), especially when you look at how dramatically he has improved from last year. Well done call keep up the good work and keep telling it like it is.

Rev, why are you so consumed with the past..

..when it's the future that counts? Is it because the future for Dovi doesn't look quite as appetising as Crutchlow's?

Im not too sure statistics are the way to go lately as there seems to be a huge lack of overall competitive machines, I mean look at the last race 4 factory bikes out of the whole field with only 3 different manufacturers. A huge congrats to cal and the timing was great but and im only saying this but in pure sport terms, there was a huge shortage in the field of competitors to challenge.

truck no fcuk..

Despite young Cal being a bit rough round the edges - an un-cut diamond that has every chance of polishing up into the Jewel of a British racing generation - he has the one commodity flat-liner Dovi lacks..blinding raw pace.

Cal is faster than Dovi..simples.

The table don't tell the whole picture by a long shot..Testing, fastest laps and qualifying results are indicators too. Important indicators that help quantify true potential. Dovi would still be at Honda otherwise..Casey Stoner may never have got to ride a factory Ducati.

This is why Yamaha wanted to keep him - he's news, a character - and were happy to let the uninspiring and unfortunately rather dull Italian move on.

They say fans, like dogs, mirror the characteristics and nature of the ones they follow.

This is why Dovi fans, and especially British Dovi fans, are the dullest mutherflucking race fans out there and are invariably, well..Welsh.
