I’ve just finished my second riding session on the new BMW S1000RR HP4 at the Jerez circuit in southern Spain. As well as having lighter wheels, a titanium Akrapovic exhaust and improved electronic rider aids, it’s the first production bike to have electronically-adjustable rebound and compression damping (Dynamic Damping Adjustment). You still need to manually adjust the suspension, albeit via the dash...

I have the first RR and trust me its quick; I have no slick-shift or Traction control,

I've got a 2010. Worth upgrading to the HP4 if I'm mainly using the bike on track?

How does it compare to your Park Lane prepped racer?

clearly you havent had the opportunity to ride a GS! Having swapped from a bike that performance wise would knock most into a cocked hat, the ultimate rideability of the GS is stunning, the feeling of taking control of the bike, the ability to outdo a blade on the twisties and the ability to make you smile is second to none. Seems strange a guy with the list of bikes you purport to own that you call us GSers fashion victims????? Wanna look in your own garage mate!
