Poll: What's the greatest bike movie of all time?

Next week's MCN (out September 12) gives the inside story on some of the best bike-related films. But which one would you rate as the finest ever made? Here's our highly subjective Top 10 (note: we haven't counted non-bike films with famous bike scenes in, such as Mad Max or The Great Escape). If we've missed any crackers off the list,...

no Stone?

What, no Stone?, the wonderfully cheesetastic 70's aussie bike movie.

Any poll that misses out Stone is a poll not worth voting on, & more to the point, if it wasn't for Stone, i wouldn't have developed a life long passion for bikes, for shame MCN, for shame.

Quadrophenia is the finest film of its type. A true reflection of the real turmoils of teenage life. For pure motorcycle action its got to be TT 3D Closer to the edge.

It depends on age I guess.

For me it has to be the iconic cult classic Easy Rider. Every scene tells a story. The unmentioned Little Fauss and Big Halsy was brilliant too. Quadrophenia painted bikers as ape brained thugs compared to the goody goody scooter puffs. And the less said about Silver Dream Racer the better. Who the hell told David Woodentop Essex that he could act?

Head over to IMDB

You've missed out one of the most under-rated films ever-"Electra Glide in Blue". Robert Blake gives a brilliant performance as a Arizona motorcycle cop who gets his wish and is promoted to Homicide following the mysterious murder of a hermit. He is forced to confront his illusions about himself and those around him in order to solve the case, eventually returning to solitude in the desert. The Police Bike vs. Dirt bikes chase scene is the greatest ever done.
