Triumph Trophy 1200 first ride: "Hugely impressive"

This is what he’s got to say: "It’s been 21 years since Triumph re-launched at Hinckley with their first new model, the original 1200...

Thinking about it some more, you barely need to ride it in a road test at all, everyone already knows that it's going to be dead comfortable, able to go all day and so on. The big question for me that needs answering, is are all these electronic rider aids worth the money? In round terms the gizmos cost in at about £5k (list price premium over the Sprint GT) so what would be interesting is to take them one by one and find a test to determine their monetary value. Personally, i'd rather have a second bike for town riding, like a Tiger 800 or something a year or two old than spend the money on these gadgets. It would be interesting to hear how the MCN team would contrast the value for money on buying the gadgets on the one side or buying a second bike on the other.
