New Yamaha Race Blu paintjob

This new Race Blu paintjob seen here on the Yamaha YZF-R1 is the highlight of a series of colour changes for many of the 2013 Yamahas with no mechanical changes at all. Drab and Awful.........

...................a race bike should look like it's doing 100mph when it's stood still.

This colour scheme whould go well on a Harley donkey.

Ok that's all I'd say, I do like the blue but not sure on the matt grey. Not a bad colour scheme but not "buy me now"

Totally agree with Jonnyspocket, black/yellow roberts replica or the red/white roberts would be an awesome colour scheme choice, the only down side would be for the customer to decide which one!!!

R1 ...

born with a face only a mother could love.  you can paint the current R1 any colour you like, it's still a munter.

I thought the paint scheme looked awful on the GP bikes and these pics don't look much better either.  really gone off the Yam street bikes recently.

I think yamaha are going down hill now. They have released so many 'new versions' of the r1 and r6 over the last few years and the only thing they can boast about is squeezing an extra couple of bhp! yet they think they can stick a hefty price tag on it too!! i mean come on, nearly 14K for a new R1 when i can pick pretty much the same bike up for 6K...... i dont think so!

Also this paint job is extremely dull!! its just a blue paint, nothing more. Bet they will be sticking a higher price tag for it too!!

colour scheme

I think the colour scheme is very classy looking and I happen to like that shade of blue along with black. I think the loud brightly coloured paint schemes of some bikes are cheap, commercial corporate in their design. I do love individual custom designs though like on the roland sands style choppers etc I do think yamaha have lost the plot lately with their pricing and new bikes.
