Ben Spies right to delay World Superbike return

Ben Spies was right to shun the opportunity to move back to World Superbikes to try and fulfil his potential in the MotoGP world championship. The Texan seemed certain to be leaving MotoGP after he announced on the eve of his home race in Laguna Seca at the end of July that he would quit Yamaha’s official factory squad. He was lining...

It would have been fun to see him mid pack (at best ) in WSB, instead of tail end Charlie in GPs. Typical yanker!

Thebdragon has been coming for a while, but he'll need two more years in WSB. He'll finish top four next season and win it in 2014 in my view.

Spies is at the peak of his powers at 28 and his powers have been shown to be good enough in the past. He'll have a point to prove next year on the Ducati and I wouldn't be surprised if he wins one.

Hype and spin

Thats all it is. Spies has found his place in Moto GP he's a journeyman riderr who can bounce around afew rides on the back of being the token Yank out there .

Shown to be fast enough? for what? to pinch the odd podium if the true talent fall off , are skittled or breakdown?

Yeah he was fast enough for that when he believed he was talented enough to win the title. But when stoner ran him down and passed him with one arm behind his back and blindfolded, at the last round of 2011, the penny dropped.

Spies is a shattered man whos in it for the money now and nothing more. if tenth in the world on the easiest bike to ride out there is all he can do, then there no feckin chance of him winning on the Ducati.

Dovi crutchlow bradl are faster than him never mind Rossi Pedrosa and Lorenzo.

That said he is good enough to be in Moto GP as a rider, and would be right at the sharp end in WSB. its just the top four aliens (and rossi has still got it) are so much better than the rest.:ph43r::ph43r::ph43r: and happy retirement Casey:ph43r:

Your probably right on the money front, i'l give him credit for that. For image and world titles the trip back to WSB would have been better for his ego too. Theres plenty fast kids to come up in the next few years who wont care able reputations, his tainted one

How embarrassing..

..and disappointing for the Predator, fifth alien, whatever you want to call him.

What gives him the right to spit the dummy about being replaced with the spineless showing we've witnessed this year? He had it coming.

Speez and his fans like to paint it as a bad luck story. Well the bad luck didn't really start until after he knew he was out on his ear. His use of social media platforms to announce his departure from Yamaha was ill advised and has made him a laughing stock..Hahaha.

I thought the kid was better than this..the strong silent type who preferred to do his talking on the track, but it turns out he's dominated by his Mom and isn't honest enough with himself to be a man in control of his own destiny. A spoilt brat in freefall.

I can't believe he doesn't ride a bike closed season. No passion whatsoever..which about sums the job up.

Damaged goods I'm afraid.
