Ben Spies right to delay World Superbike return

Ben Spies was right to shun the opportunity to move back to World Superbikes to try and fulfil his potential in the MotoGP world championship. The Texan seemed certain to be leaving MotoGP after he announced on the eve of his home race in Laguna Seca at the end of July that he would quit Yamaha’s official factory squad. He was lining...

I was Slated

I was slated on this forum in 2010 for saying he would never be a championship contender and was more like Nial Mackenzie (great rider but not a top GP Rider).

Where are all these people (Rawdawg and Others) now regarding their Spies.

Toseland won 2 WSBK Titles. Don't ever forget that everyone.

Rob TZ, your half right..

Yeah I remember Rob, I'm sure you said Ben "wouldn't win a MotoGP race", (like Niall McKenzie) not "wouldn't be a championship contender" so a bit of massaging the facts there but fairplay to you, as it turns you weren't far from the mark with Ben, although he did as it turns out win one. But I think everyone is very surprised by Ben's results this year, not least Yamaha who pay his wages!!! He was told he had to get three wins this year, which tells you what they expected of him, i.e. at least three wins. He was also let down by Yamaha on more than one occasion this year of course and might well have won another one this year had it not been for the bizarre mechanicals.

Mark my words, as I'm sure you will, I think Ben has another win or two at least in MotoGP.
