Aragon MotoGP: Ben Spies disappointed to miss podium

Ben Spies is still waiting to score his first podium finish in 2012 after he was unable to match the pace of Cal Crutchlow and Andrea Dovizioso in a battle for the top three at the Motorland Aragon yesterday. Reality and confidence

Spies is finishing where he always has at GP level on his better days. The belief he's ever truly done that well in Moto GP is a myth. Ok the odd podium and a good if alittle lucky win in three years is hardly alien stuff.

I think Spies confidence was shot to shit the moment he threw his leg over the factory M1 and realised it wasnt the bikes that were making Lorenzo ,Rossi, Pedrosa and Stoner go that much faster. You u realise you will never be that good its got to hit your confidence hard. The mistakes have come thick and fast and the excuses flow.

Its no shame on Ben, he just simply isnt talented enough. On current form  id rate him 8th best rider out there, regardless of Bad luck, which is pretty good at world level.

Shame theres only 7 decent rides available on the grid though.........

elbowz - they said Melandri's riding style would be suited to the Ducati and look what happened to him.  it's going to take a heap of money and resource from Audi to sort out the Duke - the signs are promising but we've been here before.
