Crash damage

I got knocked off at low speed last week and fortunately am OK. The insurance company are acknowledging that my helmet needs replacing and jacket as well as there is visible damage. My boots are not visibly damaged but I'd be much happier replacing them as can't believe that having been involved in one accident and done their job they will be as effective should I need to rely on them a second time? Does anyone know anywhere I can find evidence to back this up?

Thanks!

Boots

I am not so sure that is the case with boots.  The do not have impact-absorbing material in the way that a helmet does.  Why not speak to the manufacturer?  There's no-one more expert in their product than them.
