Poll: Should Biaggi have been allowed to benefit from team orders?

Max Biaggi won his second World Superbike championship at the weekend by just 0.5points, ahead of Tom Sykes. Sykes won the final race, while Biaggi finished fifth. Biaggi's team-mate Eugene Laverty finished fourth after visibly slowing in the final laps of the race should his team-mate need the extra points. Is this fair? pollcomment

Non issue

Massimiliano knew where he had to finish to take the title and did just that - all by himself. MCN trying to fan a fire that's stone cold dead.

Nothing else to report mcn? So what if Laverty slowed down, max still finished behind him. So nothing to vote about.

No no no

The only team orders are those that are hopefully signed into contract prior to commencement of seasons battle. Win,win and win for the team, your crew and employer. Anyway,Laverty beat Max on the day and Biaggi won the title. Win,win for Aprilia all round. Eugene and Max included. Just don't take your team mate out of the reckoning on any Sunday 'capice?' At the end of the day you are both employed by US and racing for US. Gettit ? Right. Now go race, have fun and never forget who pays your wages.

In other words Eugene, you did a fine job on Sunday. You were never in the title hunt 2012 and Tom Sykes never did draw a paycheck from us. Good on you and Max . 2012 season is over, lets look at signings for 2013 within Aprilia factory. My guestimate is that Max will announce retirement.

yes I think it does need asking. If it only happened yesterday at the last round fair enough, but it happened a few times during the season.

NO AND YES. I say NO because laverty did it totaly wrong 4 laps from the end, and losing more then 2.5 sec a round.

i say YES if laverty stayed close with biaggi.                            But not this way, if biaggi won that way sykes should win it

It's is a team sport at the end of the day, anybody that thinks different knows little about the history of motorsport.

Aprillia "TEAM"

The idea is it is a team the riders are hired to ride for the team.  People may watch racing and think it's an individual sport but it's not. Biaggi is the 1st rider in the team and not just because he's Italian but also because the team was set up around him, any rider joining will know that before joining the team. People would not moan if the roles were reversed.

Team mates help each other out in any other sport why not bike racing, seems only fair and natural to me

non story

a team is exactly what it says on the tin a team plus this weekend biaggi had no benefit from where laverty finished.

really it's the organisers that gave biaggi a benfit by giving half points at monza then giving full points at silverstone
