Poll: What do you want from the RCV road bike?

Tetsuo Suzuki, the boss of HRC wants to hear from MCN readers about what they want the promised V4 1000cc RCV road bike to be like, and how much they think it should cost. One of the internal debates within Honda is just exactly what form the bike should take. One camp wants to make the bike as near as possible...

i hear what you are saying . but why would anyone need a race bike for the road? you cannot use it properly , if you want a race / track bike then buy one that does the job .

Oh that old chestnut...

Iv'e been listening to the "You can't use it on the road" Shite for over 40 years now, Who cares???? if you can afford it, buy it ....If you can't then work harder and stop being so predictably jealous...... Yes I also have a very small Penis. and I also liked the Honda CX500 but can't see how anyone riding one with only one cylinder... However Talented could ever expect to win a race against a 1000cc SuperBike.

Snev,

Jealousy has nothing to do with it, try reading the whole thread before posting, (it's the link that says 'show all comments' and is pretty hard to miss). It will prevent you from appearing quite such a sanctimonious twit in future. :)

Rubber Truncheon

Oh well, from this discussion board, Honda will have no doubts about one piece of standard kit. That being: A rubber truncheon, for down the Men's Leathers!

everything

Lots of talk of upgraded fireblades or something like the desmo, but things have moved a long way since the desmo and an upgraded fireblade wouldn't be an rcv for the road. What honda need is an absolute firebreather, that can be ridden by everyone, that's the real challenge, to make something special and accessible. To even attempt something like this it needs to be more powerful than the desmo, modern traction control should take care of that. It should definitely have geometry closer to the gp bike than the road bike. The level of standard sportsbikes today is so high, honda will really have to pull all the stops out just to beat something like the hp4

Will go along with that, and if they could somehow keep it (considering the proletariat) under 17k. A big 'ask' though! Probably looking at 20k plus.

dont get a racebike for the road....

BOLLOCKS!

make it the same as the track bike.

everyone wants dumbed down easy bikes now. the people who will be able to afford this will proberly only take it out a few times a year, to a track, on a nice day.

there is plenty of bikes that are not practical on the road, if your going to say that its pointless having a track bike on the road you might as well get rid of all bikes that can do more than 70mph as you dont need more on the road.. legally.

honda specials are allways showroom pieces that dont get ridden much.

as for what id like to see on the honda.. no rider aids. id much prefer they put the time and money into making a good frame than just stick traction control on it like everone does now.. hence why i wont buy a post carbs superbike. (except the ktm. =p)
