The blue and matt grey colours have been used by the factory MotoGP team for the previous two races at Misano and Aragon. The YZF-R1, R6 and R125 sports bikes are also available in the...

Not bad..

I'm not so keen on the new Yamaha paint scheme but it seems to work okay on the XJ.

I prefer the old scheme!

is it just me? i thought the paint scheme Jorge and Ben started out with this year was one of the best I've ever seen on a bike... If I had an R1 it'd be in those colours with the blue / white swage down the centre and sides - no question!

Cheers,

Baz

Matt grey - yuk!

From the photos the faired version looks OK. I do hate the current trend for using matt finished panels. They look reasonable when brand new but it is difficult to effectively remove dead insects, tar etc as you cannot use a wax or polish on the panel. Vespa tried this a couple of years ago on a special edition GTS and the used ones on the market look awful where they've been subjected to tar and insect splattage.
