Less than 30 left: Moto Guzzi Daytona RS 1000

The Moto Guzzi Daytona was always the pure, no messing race replica in the range, whether in 1000cc form, or the with the later 1100 motor. Fuelling problems slightly marred the performance, but there's a brutal elegance about the bike, and true collector value. There's a claimed 102bhp, plus it runs cambelts, rather than pushrods, and fuel injection. The 1997-98 models...

Good looking classic

Can't argue with the looks of this model.  Used to own a Guzzi, way back!  This is a nice example.

Swop push rods for cam belts? Am I completely wrong in thinking this was a pushrod engine, not an overhead cam engine? Had 3 Guzzis myself in the late 70s and 80s and the only conversion I did was change the HyVo chain on the front of the engine to gear drive. Was it this that was changed to belt drive or am I talking crap?

RS

Well I own one of the 1999 RS SORN models with 8000 miles on it in mint condition - it has no pushrods - is belt driven OHC.  Better that a 900SS Ducati which I also owned for 14000 unreliable miles.  Glad to see that one go.  Also own Cal II Lemon 2
