Motegi MotoGP: Valentino Rossi not ruling out podium fight

Valentino Rossi hasn’t ruled himself out of battling for the podium in tomorrow’s Grand Prix of Japan, despite qualifying in a lowly ninth position at the Twin Ring Motegi. Rossi set a best time of 1.45.976 on his factory Ducati GP12 to finish 1.007s behind Jorge Lorenzo, who stormed to the 50th pole position of his career in sunny conditions. The nine-times...

"We have to wait and see what happens in the race because my pace is nothing fantastic but not bad and I am quite constant.”

Unfortunately it was more constantly in the 1:47/high 1:46's than not... it's not the race but he needs to up his pace to stick with the midpack crowd. Will that include Stoner?

Pony on the goat riding a donkey..

Looks like another Jorge/Dani battle for the win..

The lap record is 46.0 and you'd probably have money on that going tomorrow from one of these two..but only just I reckon.

Likely their race pace will be low 46's..but of the rest, nobody really stands out and the second group's pace is more high 46's. At Aragon the front two were 8/10ths faster than the others..it could be a similar story here.

Rossi is in that bunch and given his undoubted race craft is a great outside bet with bwin.com @9/1 for last podium spot..take it from wosi kiddywinks.

same old spout from valentino, cal did winge yesterday but then stuck it on front row, at least rossi will probs have a good race pace in his back pocket if the rear tyre lets him.

9:1 for podium

Go ahead and waste your money. Capirossi won 3 in a row at Motegi with the bike. Analyse this. The bike won Motegi 2010 aswell. B Win and Billy Bunter. Go ahead Vale and make my day as a Ducatista.

Those Yamaha's are getting decidedly twitchy and unpredictable with front end in 1000cc format. Do the same thing lap after lap and splat.

Some record winning three in a row at Motegi 2005, 2006 and 2007 Ducati have won more races at Motegi also count the one win what Stoner has there back in 2010.

Odds are

W.H's odds for the win is 15/1 for Cal, 14/1 for Casey and Vale @ 50/1 - But Dani is the hot fav. If Cal doesn't make a very good start,  there may be an interesting dice, to see who comes out on top between Cal, Stoner & Vale.

I'm pretty sure his name is

Loris Capirossi, and not Dick, Buelli.
