Motegi MotoGP: Pedrosa wins, Crutchlow cruelly denied podium

Dani Pedrosa stormed to a fourth win in the last five MotoGP races in Japan this afternoon to keep the pressure on world championship rival Jorge Lorenzo. But there was bitter disappointment for British rider Cal Crutchlow, who had to retire on the last lap while he was locked in a thrilling battle with Gresini Honda rival Alvaro Bautista for third...

Unlucky Cal

But look on the bright side. Those trophies were crap!

Paper and bamboo apparently!
Poor Danny got one, his first GP win and he gets one of those Blue Peter lashups! I thought they were in their wrappers at first, but no....that WAS them!
Heck!

BCB

What a gargantuan post from CAL35GP1, could these heady comments be due to excessive inhalation from breathing the vapours of banks of lead acid batteries, being recharged in confined spaces, or could this be brought on by being the Secretary Treasurer and only member of the James Captain owners club !!!

I understand if you want to reply by thought transfer only.

Did Cal run out of fuel?

Fuel restrictions have NO place in motor racing.

Either have an economy run or have a speed event, but don't combine the two.

Which idiots are making the rules?

Rant over  :D

Rossi

Two year's development and he's half a minute behind the winner  :(

IMHO he will get his @r$€ kicked next year,

but he seems happy to cruise around for his cheque.

Running out of runway and gas

Fantastic performance by Dani to overcome chatter and ride a very smart race, but he will have to learn how to pass Lorenzo "Rossi"-style because winning the remaining races is not enough.

Jorge knows he is on a good thing and will take no risks from here on out.  If he can finish the season with a full flush of firsts and seconds that will be a herculean effort, and well deserving of the championship.

Bautista put a few hard passes on Cal, which you could see would be paid back in full on the last lap, and then ..... Cal ran out of fuel!  I thought the ECU was smart enough to lean the mix off and guarantee to bring the bike home, but apparently not.  Or is there an over-ride switch that the rider can push if he is feeling lucky?  In any case it was a class ride.

Casey was looking good at the start of the race but his injury is not one that can be overcome by adrenaline.  Hopefully he hasn't set back his recovery by pushing things too early.  Dovi again took advantage of the cripple.  Bastard.

And then came the also-rans in no particular order.

dani...

has totally dominated the second half of the season, and without dickhead barbara, he would be real close(if he had finished only second in misano) and leading by 2 if he had have won at misano( a real possibility, again thanks dickhead barbara). Its a real shame as we were robbed of an awesome finale. Unless lorenzo dnf's, he can finish 2nd all day long and still win the title. grrrrrrr......I wanted to see lorenzo sweat as dani closed down the points. He was pissed off as it was in motegi by getting dominated, again, by pedrosa, and that is with a huge safety margin.
