Sepang MotoGP: Jorge Lorenzo relieved with ‘lucky’ second

Jorge Lorenzo admitted he got out of jail after he almost threw away 20 precious points in a rain-lashed Sepang MotoGP race. Just moments before the scheduled 20-lap race was red flagged on lap 14 as torrential rain battered the Sepang track, Lorenzo had survived a massive fright when he lost the front of his Yamaha YZR-M1 machine at the final...

Fair point Hedgers.  Although I have to say, he could've settled for 3rd... why was he so keen to finish the race? I am guessing he didn't want to risk an off as well as coasting home in 3rd place when a guy with a broken ankle comes past the title contender in front of all the fans!  So looks like he got what he wanted.  You and moaner were right to shake your fists at the Devils Portal in frustration.  Agreed that we change the bias depending on the rider.... and by Christ, that Save could've 'saved' his 2012 title aspirations

I like Jorgé but I'd prefer Dani to win the WC this year.  He's done the least moaning, least complaining, dealt with all of the media (on and off track) in a mature way and just rode the absolute bollocks off that Honda.

Black Country Bullock.  I'll be sending an encrypted message... EAM Crimson Tide style!

Thankyou for answering the Rev/Baaaaaabaaaaa's post for him, from the grave, the undertaker has done a good job on you, you look sooo much better in your avatar, now he's filled you up with embalming fluid, all he has to do is carry out the same proceedure on that pesky Rev/Benny/Hmmmm/twpsyn/dipshit/f*ckhead etc., sheepshagger, boyo

Aye Shawno...

I don't actually care who wins... but I'd like it to be down to the last race & JL being 3rd would've made it closer. That save by JL (which took considerable skill) may have saved his championship hopes but that unfortunate decision by race direction, which in my mind displayed a distinct lack of skill, may have cost Dani his. Not the way I like to see championships won & lost.

Jorge was going backwards because of his tyre choice whilst Casey was going forwards because of his tyre choice. Having enjoyed the soft tyre performance in the first part of the race to get himself to the front Jorge then started waving his hand as soon as his tyres went off. The leader is the one to call for the end of a race due to conditions and Dani's decision was to continue racing. For these reasons the decision to stop the race was incorrect.
