Leather Haversack

Hi,

I was wondering if anyone would help me. My biker Dad has asked for a Leather Haversack for Christmas.

I'm struggling to find one to be honest! I've been to a few outdoor shops but they look at me like I'm crazy!!Googles not helping so I thought this could be a biker specialist thing but I still don't know where to look.

If anyone can make any suggestions of places to look I would be very very grateful!!

Thank you in advance! :smile

Leathher Haversack

This would not be a mainstream item as leather is not waterproof and therefore not a very practical material for motorcycle luggage.  Having said that, Harley Davidson produce some leather luggage so it might be worth checking their catalogue to see if they have anything.

Leather is not waterproof or stainproof,

http://www.google.co.uk/search?hl=en&q=leather+rucksacks+for+men&revid=1643814756&sa=X&ei=IKyHUMuHLsiChQfLwoBI&ved=0CKcBENUCKAY&biw=1440&bih=787

also it can double it`s weight when wet.

Not recommended.

'Leather is not waterproof or stainproof'

Probably why 'assless' chaps are popular.:winkie:

'Kriega' make good bike rucksacks ...they are not cheap mind.

Edit : have just noticed you were enquiring after a 'haversack' I doubt you will find such an item specifically for 'bikers' as a haversack is normally slung over one shoulder using it's single strap. Most items for use whilst riding would be more securely held firmly in place such as a rucksack using several straps.

I would check if your dad intends using it for riding ...or if he genuinely wants a 'haversack' and the fact he is a 'biker' is a 'red herring'. :winkie:

Haversacks do seem to be quite 'fashionable' at the moment and popular with young blokes.

Thank you!

Thank you for your replies! He's a massive Harley fan so this may be where he's seen said item so I'll definatley have a look there! :smile

I never thought of the fact that it would not be waterproof, that is a very good point!!

I think he means more of a rucksack, I didn't know that's what a haversack actually was, I just thought it was yorkshire for rucksack as my Dad is in his 50's and I can't really see him sporting a Man Bag

I will continue my search and appreciate all you help!
