Cal Crutchlow third as Jorge Lorenzo lifts MotoGP crown

Cal Crutchlow gave himself an early 27th birthday present in Phillip Island this afternoon to claim his second premier class podium in an Australian Grand Prix that saw Jorge Lorenzo clinch a second MotoGP world title. Crutchlow celebrates his 27th birthday tomorrow (Monday) and he won’t be the only one partying in Australia after factory Yamaha rider Lorenzo finished second to...

Oh how gracious of you Dovi lover , CAL whooped your man fair and square , get used to it, you sheep shagging madman ,as next season will be a choker for you, Well done Jorge , two titles don't come to mere mortals, Casey Stoner love him or loathe him the man is awesome on that bike , surely he must of won over some of the "moaner" critic's, in qualifying he got thrown up the track got up and went straight back out and put in more blistering laps on his second machine, I for one wish he was out there next season , Rossi will not cope with Jorge next year never mind Stoner as well !, finally well done Cal , Superb ride and overdue second podium , better still you ruined the madmans day BENNY YOUR A TOSSER

Well done Cal brilliant result particularly being so far ahead of Dovi etc, so sad for Pedrosa though!!! he has been a different guy at the tail end of this season!!! I cant believe there are still dickheads on this site criticising him, he had to go all out and try to have any chance in the championship which is exactly what he was trying to do! All you armchair experts make me cringe if your so fucking great get out there and show everbody how it should be done instead of giving your crass opinions

true in 2011 the best rider didn't won, because that would've been jorge. in 2007 it shouldn't be stoner but rossi. 2008 2009 2010 and 2012 the best riders did win!

another good solid ride, a lot smoother than normal, made use of that fast flowing circuit, and another well earned podium. Sad to see Dani go down, but he had no option other than to go for it. As always, a good package like Lorenzo, wins out over the season, and I just get the feeling that Stoner could do his magic around PI everyday, he'll be missed, but you can clearly see his main interest is his wife and baby, and why not.

Buel - why bother

Interesting to hear Neil Spalding say how Rossi/Burgess have brought the bike to a better level than it was before.
I suppose all you Rossi knockers will disagree with someone that actually knows what he is talking about because you are blinded by hatred and envy.

So why bother to bring it up? Perhaps to get a reaction so you can get on your high horse about Rossi again

Genuine question. Do you honestly see that result as bringing it forward? 40 seconds back at a track it has won on 4 times?

Abraham was lining up Rossi at one point but obviously felt sorry for him and dropped back to save his blushes. Yes, that's definitely bringing it forward, having your outdated reject bike with zero upgrades putting in a faster lap...

I'm interested in your interpretation of bringing it on.

Brilliance won the 2012 title

Congratulations to Jorge for a season of relentless pace which ultimately broke his rivals. There are no ifs, buts or maybes Jorge was simply the best.

Nice objective viewpoint you have shown there.

Pedrosa would have needed exceptional circumstances to have won the title this year. He crashed today unfortunately going for the only option which was to win. No shame in it, he tried, but the fate of the tiotle was really beyond his control

The only thing cheap in your comment was your comment.

Now it's done, at least the last race will have all three going for the win with nothing to lose other than the pride of not winning.

Looking forward to it.
