Marc Marquez gets crew boost at HRC

New Moto2 world champion Marc Marquez has been given a major boost after it was confirmed all but one of Casey Stoner’s current factory Honda crew will oversee his much anticipated move to MotoGP in 2013. HRC has allowed the talented Spaniard to bring his current crew chief Santi Hernandez and one other mechanic from his Moto2 team into Repsol Honda...

unfair of Dorna

This is so unfair of Dorna to change the rules. If anyone is more deserving it's Stefan Bradl.

Dorna had done LCR a favor. Anybody who doesn't like this kid is bitter he is the real deal and deserves his place on that bike. Lorenzo and Pedrosa jumped right on factory bikes didn't they? Bradl has done well but on equal machinery Marquez would smash him. You saw in Moto2 Marquez didn't finish the first 3 races or compete in the last 2 and nearly beat Bradl. I like the kid but Marquez is a cut above

Shut it Suppo you over paid twat

"there is going to be a lot of pressure because in Spain for a long time he has been seen as the new future star."

So the last 125 world title, then a Moto2 tile not measuring up?

Spainish people should be more worried about how they are going to pay their mortgage............

1st season

I know a lot of people will disagree but I don't think MM will do much in his first season. He's fast but he's also an immature rider who takes unecessary risks and rides beyond his limits. At times he has been downright dangerous. Torpedoing Kallio during free practice and calling it a racing incident being just one example. He has a lot of growing up to do and how he escaped that incident without a grid penalty or race ban is beyond me. I hope he takes the opportunity to learn from Pedrosa for a year or two. All that said the kids a definate title contender in a few years time unless he continues to be as dangerous as he currently is.

I think we are going to see a lot of crashes rcv's next season and who knows maybe he might run out of engines because of it. Fast guy don't get me wrong, but needs to calm down and maybe bulk up abit if he doesn't want to end up as fragile as pedrosa.

MM Marc the midget

Marquez is a lot of the things mentioned here. He is fast, brave, reckless even dangerous. He is in the best team and I feel sure he will make a splash next season. He also is very very small and maybe wouldn't have looked so brilliant up against a Scott Redding on a weight adjusted bike.

good luck

To the guy...he has been a great talent so far in his career but moving to the top class is a different story.
No doubt he will be fast from the off but just how fast know one knows..He has an awful lot to learn and it just depends how quickly he can adapt.
Remember how quickly Lorenzo won his first race but also the pain he put himself through in his first year.
He will certainly liven up the grid next season.

Gabbarini is class, Caseys soon to be ex-crew chief can hopefully provide the young Marquez the guidance he needs to battle at the front. looking forward to it!
