Harley Davidson Fatboy

My 2008 Harley Fatboy (now 5100 miles) has had an intermittent slow running problem since new. It may run fine for 2 months/200 miles at an idle of 980rpm. Then start to stall at 950rpm following a spit-back through air intake or alternatively idle at 1600rpm sometimes 2000rpm.
Black Bear Newmarket have had it back over 4 winters under warranty to fix it but have not. This year they increased idle to 1025rpm. It worked ok for 200 miles but problem is now back. They also fitted a stage 2 tune with 1690cc big bore upgrade. They now say I should try another fueler. They will fit free. I am to pay for material! But I am sceptical. Does this sound like a fueler problem to you? I feel they have run out of ideas and are changing bits till they find the problem.
It is fitted with a Kitech Performance TFI fuel injection controller, loose under seat.It has 8 led's - mode + touch buttons. There are no instructions in Harley handbook. I cant find any operating/set up instructions on Internet. Can you tell me how/where I can go to get info to operate it. What does it do?
Many thanks
Tony Cook

spit back

Welcome Tony, never had a Harley but to me your describing a weak mixture at low revs and is worse in cold weather.Have you tried N.G.K.irridium spark plugs and 99 octane fuel to prove this?

I had a bike with the same problem and a powercommander fitted and tuned on a rolling road cured it.

to agree with Jaffa90, Induction spitback is a sign of weak mixture.
