Picture gallery: Kawasaki W800 Spirit

Spirit then created designs and engineering solutions to make this glorious retro street scrambler a reality. MCN Senior Editor Richard Newland rode the bike and had this to say: "The riding position is so natural...

If that's..

..supposed to herald back the seventies then the front fender needs a re-do. Plus the rear fender looks more bobbed than I prefer. Otherwise it lends itself well for a trip back through memory lane.

W800 Spirit

Fix the mudguards, lose the 'Spirit' stickers, and I'll buy one.

Lean, mean...

Then put a fat guy on it for the wetsuit.

Whilst the designer fretted over which bits to leave off in the name of weight saving, the rider probably thought 'yeah, another pasty won't do any harm....'

Sorry, don't like.

How to ruin a beautifully designed, well thought out retro. That front "mudguard" is just stupid. It's obviously just for looks but does not work at all.

Love the Paint

It looks like the Golden Blazed Green of the 2012 ZZR. The W800 is a great bike and easily as good as a Bonneville but if I was interested in that type of bike I would rather have it in stock trim with that paint.
