Valentino Rossi lapped in dismal Ducati farewell

Valentino Rossi suffered one final humiliation at Ducati in Valencia yesterday when he was lapped in his final appearance for the Bologna factory. Rossi’s disastrous two-year spell with Ducati ended pretty much as it had started with the Italian icon woefully uncompetitive and nowhere near the podium after he slumped to a frustrating 10th place in tricky conditions. Rossi started the race...

Erm...

MCN... "Rossi’s disastrous two-year spell with Ducati ended pretty much as it had started with the Italian icon woefully uncompetitive and nowhere near the podium after he slumped to a frustrating 10th place in tricky conditions."

I think it started with a 7th place & I'm fairly sure he wasn't lapped... it's finished a lot worse. Hurry up & swap those red leathers for blue...

LATRINE

"You shall also have a place outside the camp and go out there, and you shall have a spade among your tools, and it shall be that when you sit down outside, you shall dig with it and shall turn to cover up your excrement."

- Deut 23:12-13

Before the introduction of modern flush toilets it was common for people to use a chamber pot at night and then to dispose of the 'nightsoil' in the morning; this practice (known as slopping out) continued in prisons in the United Kingdom until recently and is still in use in the Republic of Ireland.

The word toilet may also be used, especially in British English to describe the room containing the fixture, for which euphemisms such as restroom or bathroom are used in American English. Prior to the introduction of modern flush toilets, most human waste disposal was done through the use of household chamber pots, or took place outdoors in outhouses or latrines.

Pail closets were introduced in England and France in an attempt to reduce sewage problems in rapidly expanding cities.

Well on behalf of the level headed Rossi fans (not the crazy types!)…..all I can say is thank god his Ducati era is finally over! His dismal race result sort of sums up the whole 2 year experience. It has been a pretty woeful experience from the start, much as I feared. All we have learned is Vale was either unable or unwilling to ride it in the same way as Stoner did; and as no one else ever rode it like Casey either before him – then nothing else was learned from the whole episode.

My big reservation was always the ‘closed shop’ mentality and stubbornness to listen to others that was always going to be a problem. Preziosi, Vito and Franco were there at the birth of their baby and have always been extremely protective of the Desmo. Too many riders have been ignored down the years and they just continued their own merry dance no matter what the results showed. If the rumours are true and Prez gets ‘moved’ by Audi then that would clearly be a good thing for the sake of the bike’s re-development. New eyes and all that. Something in Ducati needs to change and new owners will have no doubt had a good close look at the set-up within the racing organisation and over the 10 year Motogp project that started off OKish with a brilliant designed engine that was very fast but has not lived up to it’s promise and has done not much really (Casey the one exception). And since winning its one world championship it has just kept losing ground on Honda and Yamaha and lost its way. All these ‘genius ideas’ of CF frame, the engine been a large part of the frame and all that seems to have done nothing much other than take too much of the resources and budget. They grabbed headlines but did nothing at all to improve the race bike.

With the possibility of some personnel changes there would be some hope that the 4 riders in 2013 may finally get a decent crack at the whip with a bike made more rideable at the maximum limit. Motogp needs a competitive Ducati in the class and it needs more closer racing for sure.

Wow!!

I stand corrected Milkybars, although I would argue that there is only 1 kind of English, its called English, any other kind of English is just English spoken by idiots.

Rossi is better than this

Perhaps by thirty seconds. The D16 is easily another minute or more better. A shameful end to an embarrassing partnership. Christ, Stoner wobbled around barely trying and got third.

The word you're after is 'can't' RacingFan99, it never has been 'won't'.
