Women

You support them through an emotionally hard time, you offer to back off and give them some room and say you'll be there when she's ready rather than fucking off and getting laid. You're frankly a nice guy, ignoring that they're on happy pills now and willing to stick around when their health is taking a bit of a downturn.

You then get a text saying she can't cope with the fact I have to use a walking stick occasionally and that I'm in pain all the time (didn't stop her getting a rather damn good fuck when I really wasn't up for it last time we met, did it?) and that she can't cope with the fact I take medications to function. She's a) taking meds to function and is b) a fucking pharmacist.

Remind me, why am I bitter about women?

The text: "I'm not sure I can cope with your brokeness and I'm not comfortable with the meds"... hell of a way to fuck someone off.

I think I have a new winner - the old one was "Hi, I'm Phil" "Fuck off, Phil".

I think we've

all been there at some point, it's never easy whatever the reasons. Hope it turns out for you and she sees sense in the end

Oh

I think only people who have struggled with their health and do their level best to work, be normal and ensure it doesn't affect other people can understand quite how that hurts so much.

Plenty of ways to say to someone you don't want to be with them without basically saying "you're disabled and it's too much hassle" even though you've never made it even slightly difficult for them.

No

pain as she's just revealed that she's no way someone I'd want to be with. I just think it's a really callous and disgustingly harsh thing to say.

I got a bottle of scotch today. It was shit:

‎"Marks and Spencer Finest Single Malt"
"Nose - Enticing nose, oily with faint coastal air and distant smoke"
"Palate - Smoky and mouth coating with underlying vanilla and fruity notes"
"Silver award winner" "A first class example of classic Islay single malt"

Phil's comments:
"Nose - it burnt mine"
"Palate - like they opened some Bells, let it evaporate a bit and added used motor oil. All on Islay apparently, just so they could put it on the packet".
"Complete pack of lies and really, was it the bloody dog malting?"

These people are

very myopic, if they are looking for something else then maybe in the long term you will be better off.  It hurts like hell at the minute but it does get better, apparently:shock:

Pick up

a bottle of Talisker. Gorgeous stuff.

And yes, very much so a callous and disgusting thing to say, but sometimes that's just the way it goes... people very occasionally sometimes turn out to not be who you thought they were. Only choice you have is to try to accept the facts anyway or try to move on with your life.

What doesn't kill you makes you stronger!

Women or men

some just can't stick it through the tough times. In sickness and in health. that line should be abolished. Hope things get better for you. As bb says, most have been there at some point in their life.

Talisker

Just been looking it up. I've had it before but can't remember it. I'm sure I've seen it in Sainsbury's.

EDIT: doesn't Gordon Freeman look a lot like House?
