Pics: Valentino Rossi back on a Yamaha in Valencia

Valentino Rossi has made his long-awaited return to Yamaha’s factory MotoGP squad in Valencia this morning. The 33-year-old was one of the first out on track in cool and cloudy conditions this morning but his YZR-M1 return didn’t last beyond a third lap as rain spots started to fall on the Ricardo Tormo track. Rossi left the Yamaha garage with dozens of...

Got a wee crush on the man Kerry?

You're not his type you know. I think he prefers the podgy Strongbow swigging variety.

With a name

such as Most-Rod-In-Anus, well he would be the first one to see Rossi  riding his beautiful ex-girlfriend and getting "stiff"  or looking stiff as he put it. Such thoughts always seem to cum from Aussie boys. Hahahahahaha

Packing up Rev

Sounds like the main players never even bothered to unpack. Jorge just sent his Nr.2 bitch out there to gauge conditions, which he dutifully did.

Mixed condition

Track condition varying so much over the day no useful indications really as to who is where.  Track at times almost dry. damp, then wet hence why riders who dont really need to go out (like a rookie risking injury or the riders staying with same teams) stayed in the garages.  Until we get all dry practice, with all riders taking part, when they have all have a chance to get comfortable with changes of machinery, then the real times will be more apparent.  I appreciate people saying ahhhh but Dovi's lap was 4 seconds faster than Valentino.... but track conditions were better hence why some CRT's were making leaps in time as well over riders earlier in the day.  To use it as a marker would be like saying well Bautista was 4 seconds faster than Dovi... etc etc... Best wait for the real picture and hope whatever happens just means a closer title chase next year with more than 3 winners during the season !

Then again Rev

As the great Rossi Fawnicator David Emmett says;

Rossi does look supremely comfortable aboard the Yamaha M1, however. During one wet stint he was out posting consistent 1'47 laps, and looking very comfortable. Andrea Dovizioso, out for the first time on the Ducati, was nowhere near as fast, running in the 1'50s at the same time Rossi was lapping several seconds faster.

But we've had these highly optimistic false dawns time and time again from old DE over the past two years.

Should be a modest tug boat sized struggle between these two nearly men from Italy this year.

No So...

While he might have done more lappery he ended the test before the others and Dovi did that lap after the Yamaha's had packed up to go home. At the same time CRT's and Nicky Hayden et al were posting quicker times too. Track conditions were better than for riders lapping earlier, unless you are seriously suggesting that track conditions stayed the same all session and Aoyama on a Blusens CRT in his first race back on Bridgestones in over a year can actually lap faster than Nicky Hayden on a prototype, and that Dovi is realistically 3 seconds a lap faster than anyone else .... ?? Maybe if we'd have seen Pedrosa and Jorge out all morning they would have been at least another 4 seconds quicker than Dovi then ???? See thats why its better to wait for a balanced realistic test than using the figures available today to rekindle the whole anti rider banter that always comes up.

Really looking forward to this season with 4 top riders all on great bikes. Haven't seen anything like it since the 990s . Ducati will fade to grey without stoner or Rossi.. And Rossi will go a lot better on the yam . The fan girls will cry in their soup.. Tee haw....
