A2 licence

Hi, I am confused about the new A2 license, I passed my tests to get it in before January when every thing changes (passed in October). I was advised to do this by my instructor, it was fine by me as I didn't really feel safe on a 600cc bike, and I was actually comfortable on my 125. How ever now having ridden a lot over the last six months I feel I could do with some thing else, (nothing to big need to gain some experience) so looked into having a bigger bike restricted for two years, I was told that 33bhp is what I am restricted to, so doe's the 33bhp go up to 47bhp in January or is for the people that get their A2 license after the change over dates? It seems with all these changes that they don't actually want people to ride it is all so confusing. Was thinking of getting a Kawasaki ER6f restricted but not sure where I stand now, and also when looking into insurance I noticed that the A2 license is not in the list of license held bit so that is also confusing! Sorry but am new to this!! Any help would be appreciated thank you. Some people see a girl coming and will try sell them any thing so I would really like to get this right!!

Hi A123

I think you'll still be restricted to 33bhp for the 2 year period, then get the full unrestricted license after that.

As for your insurance, just pick up the phone as a real "person" has options the online forms don't have.

Enjoy your new bike and ride safe.

unit.

A2 licence........

doesn't exist until January 19th 2013, so ignore that. You've passed your test on a 125cc bike under the current regulations and therefore can ride any bike provided the power doesn't exceed 33bhp. After 2 years you can ride anything with no power restrictions:biggrin:
