Colin Edwards approaches Yamaha about 2014 engine deal

Colin Edwards has held tentative talks with senior Yamaha management about his Forward Racing squad leasing a YZR-M1 engine and electronics package for the 2014 MotoGP world championship. Yamaha will lease as many as four YZR-M1 motor packages for 2014, as the factories commit more entries to end MotoGP being a two-tier class with factory prototypes and production-based CRT machinery. Honda has...

Edwards is a legend..

He's been riding pro since 1992. Rainey, Schwantz, Doohan, Lawson, Gardner, Mamola..Whitham.

Let's not forget..last year he spanked Cal on the same bike. He's a good lad too.

Allright..he hasn't won a race in GP, but who cares?

I'd prefer Yamaha to sell him an engine for 100k..with a spares list.

Colin is a canny operator. Love to see him as a team owner with decent gear.

The next Kenny Snr...?

Hold on there Ben..

Col was arguably more dominant over Cal than Dovi was..makes you wonder what he'd have done this year, on what was clearly a much more competitive Yamaha.

I'd prefer Yamaha to sell him an engine for 100k mind..with a big fat spares book.

He's a canny operator and looking to the future, I reckon he'd make a great team owner..get Schwantz running Suzuki too.

Dovi has got a two year contract with Ducati..

Could be perfect timing for him to spearhead Col's new team.
