Nicky Hayden confident Ducati can cure understeer issue

Nicky Hayden remains confident Ducati can solve a persistent understeer issue that has dogged the Desmosedici MotoGP project in recent years. The understeer issue was a constant complaint of Valentino Rossi during his disastrous two-year stint with Ducati, which ended in him walking out to sign a new deal with Yamaha for 2013 and 2014. Hayden believes Ducati made some progress in...

Got to be optimistic after the the last two disastrous years.
Nostro is right that I like many others thought VR/JB could turn the Ducati round but it was not to be but not for the lack of trying.
I am sure you know but JB actually would have preferred Rossi to stay at Ducati because he wanted to finish the job they came to do and now with the help of Audi he believed they could have done that.
It is just a shame Rossi is running out of years otherwise I am sure that is what he would have preferred as well.

He wants to win again and I am sure he will!!!

Ducati GP slower than the Superbikes at Jerez..

I'm not surprised Dovi bailed.

Don't worry

Wosi - Nostro knows the answer - Audi will wave their magic wand and cross pollination will turn the Ducati into Honey!

Stick at it son!

Fair play Nicky. You push-on with what you've got. You're not a quitter like another rider in the Motogp paddock.

Good couple of links. Motomatters one was very good. Everyone should take the time to read it. As for the crash one. Gonna be interesting when the superbikes turn up tomorrow. Will they ask them to take it a bit easy?

Less than supermario

Casey started his first race when he was 4. That means he's been racing bikes for 23 years. If you don't like your job anymore then why keep doing it? Fuck me i'd retire tomorrow if I had the chance.

A bit harsh Wosi?

The times set by Sykes and Laverty would have placed them on the front row of this year's  Jerez Motogp grid which puts a slightly different perspective on their times relative to Hayden's

Take into account that we've no idea what the test program and objectives are/were and it's difficult to draw any conclusion from the time comparison. It's only the first day for Ducati, they could have been doing long runs, reliability tests or just a general shakedown for day 1 - who knows.

To read anything at all into the times, if it is possible, best wait until the final day and see what times the GP13 is turning then. They're bound to go for some hot laps at some stage during the test (if they haven't already....)

Perspective.

Fkin hell Bulto..we swap banter and stats month in year out, trying to make sense of it all, trying to factor in differing conditions, tyres etc. then when bikes are on the track together, you seem to be saying it's not relevant?

Hayden was only 3 tenths off his QP time from the race at Jerez and still nearly 7 tenths behind a production Superbike. That's the harsh reality for MotoGP and Ducati my friend..but it is a fair point.

There was a 3 day test at Jerez at the end of March. Stoner was fastest, on the last day, with a 38.7, Val was fastest Ducati clocking 39.7 Nicky was 8th 2 tenths slower.

Pedrosa, the man who won the most races this year on the mighty RCV, was only a second faster than Laverty on the Aprilia.

Whichever way you look at the times from Jerez yesterday, it's embarrassing for Ducati and it's embarrassing for MotoGP.

What will be of more concern is Checa being nearly 3 seconds slower than Laverty on the new Panigale, complete with Preziosi inspired, monocoque chassis they put all their eggs in the same basket with.
