Saturn. I'm a natural born cynic yet even I can see the proverb you quote is pure tosh. You are so typical of the breed - shallow - only seeing the front man and ignoring all the rest. Painting Corse as some hick backyard garage operation and not the highly successful racing organisation it is with dozens of talented, qualified, specialist engineers. Ducati will now also be able to tap into the engineering expertise of Audi. Be that electronic, materials, combustion whatever. There are lots of areas of cross pollination. The basic makeup of the Corse engineering team (and this includes Preziosi who still has much to offer)  hasn't and doesn't need to change. Try to expand your thinking beyond simple schoolboy level eh?

Wosi - Rossi the finest rider of modern times! Ho, ho, ho, how you make me laugh. The most successful, yes. But finest - not a chance. That mantle has to go to either Stoner or Spencer depending on your interpretation of modern times. Finest riders don't fail to the extent he did, or with the degree of ignominy that Rossi has.

Ducati actually lost ground to the Japanese bikes (further from the leaders) & ultimately were slower than they were 2 years earlier (slower than Hayden's 800cc 2010 lap & race times)..

Hayden says it's the best Ducati he's ridden and has improved from 2 years ago. The problem with you orange fairies is that you never acknowledge that the opposition moved on and think Casey would have been winning on a CF Ducati..

He couldn't even beat his team mate.

The Spencer/Stoner parallel is a good one. Both riders were fast but flawed..medical ailments and mental fragility being top of the list.

Let's hope for Casey's sake he doesn't comeback and make an arse of himself like Freddie.

Look at how far back Hayden was from the leader at each race & compare it with 2010.

Ultimate... the end of a progression or series... i.e. the last race & QP times you could compare. He was slower in several QP's than 2010. Overall race times are more difficult to compare but the last one stands out.

Rossi said almost the same at the start of the season. Words don't improve lap times... evidently.

The opposition has moved on... I've said that... repeatedly... yeah? But, despite JL's Yamaha being faster than the last 2 years, it hadn't moved on sufficiently to outdo Stoner's 2010 800cc race time had it?

Stoner's been beaten once by his team mate in MotoGP in a year blighted by injury... which other rider can you say that about?

That prez has been moved to another role so quickly. He was obviously not achieving what he needed to. Stoner was able to get over the Ducati problems. No other rider has been able to yet. I'm hoping that Rossi can get back on with the yam and prove he's still got it. Then all you armchair fans can eat some humble pie. I don't believe Rossi lost it by moving to the Ducati. In that last year w yam he was roughing up the top 3 as usual. He is a top class rider. Yes he's getting older. Forget about Ducati. I have and no doubt Rossi has. Roll on next year.
