Poll: What is most likely to make you speed less often?

Recently the Department of Transport are introducing more and more speed awareness courses as an alternative to the traditional points and a fine for drivers caught over the limit. But the effectiveness of the awareness courses over a finanicla penalty has yet to be measured. Maybe you've been on a course already, or have raked up points and or a fine in...

As I remember it, in France anyway, its 120kph on autoroutes and 100 in the rain, 120 being equal to 81mph. Probably less on N routes but you hardly ever see police anyway. I've only seen one mobile speed camera in France on the entry to a roundabout and there were about a dozen police standing there giving everyone the evil eye. Fortunately (or maybe not) I was in my car and dawdling, so didn't need to get the credit card out. Went to Tridays in Austria this year and the only police I saw anywhere was one police car at the top of an Austrian pass just having a look round. Nothing at all in France. Probably all hanging round the cities.

there are some on here....

who would have us all riding 125's. Hell Ive been doing that lately and I can Honestly say I have never been so concerned for my safety.Give me 200bhp any day, cus a tiny threat 125 let alone a 50 ped just doesn't register on the average drivers radar. On a 125 you have no choice on a 1300 Hyperbike you have a half decent chance.

Uh, 120 kph rounds to 75 mph.

@ snev

I ride 108cc (Honda Elite/Lead 110) among the cagers all the time, including on roads where the speed limit is higher than my 50-ish mph top speed.

Let the YTS trainee at the keyboard again?

What would make me less likely to "speed" is raising unreasonably low limits.  I don't pay much attention to them anyway, since I'd rather ride to the conditions and keep my eyes on the road.
