me 1982, my brother belonged to a side car team so had no choice really!! Didn't get to 40 and thought it would be a good idea to do.

Very much on a bucket list for some after a certain age :shock:

why??  cos i split with the missus, sold the house and had the dosh to do it......

was 28 when i took Cat A.. due to Dad bein soooooo anti bike.... hed done recovery for MET, so had seen LOOAAADDS of fatal bike RTAs.. but now he's 'semi-cool' with me riding big bikes....

Car test was 3 months after I was 17 and just because I wanted it. Had been buzzing around on a 50cc scoot since I was 16 which was fine bit I just wanted the coolness (and warmth) of a car..

Stuck with cars till '98 when I was whizzing around in a 16v Vauxhall Calibre.. Flogged that and with the money, £6000ish, I bought an NC30, all the necessary riding gear, and my passport to fun! My license!! And with the change I got a cheap old Astra..

Now I have 2 bikes, a decent car and a house.... Oh how times change......:smile
