Horex VR6 hits showrooms

The first Horex VR6 roadsters have been delivered to dealers - a year later than planned. Look forward to reading a UK roadtest but can't see what it offers that you can't get from other brands. And in my opinion, it looks a bit like 70s or 80s styling and don't know what market its aimed at.

VR6?

Surprised the VW Group is not after Horex for trademark infringement.

Styling – looks like a cross between a Star/Yamaha V-Max and a Harley-Davidson XR1200.

As I 've already said, what market is it aimed at? Its obviously not a sports bike, and in its present guise, not a tourer as there is no fairing or luggage evident, and worst of all, its chain drive, where most other manufacturers are reverting to shaft. Even belt drive would be preferable and in an enclosed case too. I'm sure the engine will be good but look at other manufacturers efforts like the BM1600, Triumphs Trophy, Kawa GTR1400, Honda VFR1200, all shaft and will probably be cheaper. They seem to have put a lot of work in so I hope it pays off but I'm not holding my breath. The big question is 'How much'?
