On board Video

I am about to fix a new camera system to my bike to that record front and rear, however I have a question on what legal right the police have to view the footage.

If I get stopped for a routine check can they use the video to see if I have done anything illegal?

If I have an accident, can they use my video to prosecute me?

Thanks
