Marc Marquez backed to handle MotoGP spotlight

Marc Marquez will have no problem in coping with the intense scrutiny and pressure of stepping into Repsol Honda as Casey Stoner’s replacement in 2013. Expectation and anticipation ahead of the Spaniard’s maiden MotoGP campaign is already building after he impressed in two testing appearances in Valencia and Sepang. The current Moto2 world champion will race alongside Dani Pedrosa in 2013 but...

Marc needs one good year to be able to compete with the likes of Vale, Loserenzo and Dani.

Already here

A lot of Simonchelli comparisons which I feel are not well grounded. Marquez is a temperemental gear up on the late Simmo. Ruthless, yes, but much more controlled and calculating. Simmo was a loose cannon vs Marquez' occasional blood rush. His target for 2013 will most likely be Stefan Bradl, results  wise. Point of focus for him in his 'rookie season',given the pair will both be on factory supported HRC kit.

If he doesn't kill himself or another rider first he will be a moto gp potential future champion as he is in a class of his own in moto2.

Lets hope he learns quickly and does as Lorenzo did developing his smooth style quickly with out too many prngs along the way!

Will need to calm down

He's undoubtedly very very quick, but will need to rein himself in a bit, as a motogp bike has a much more ferocious bite than his moto2 ride, and he was living on the edge far too often in the last season.

I think he'll have a similar first season to that of Lorenzo; some excellent results but some nasty crashes.  I reckon his management are quietly confident of a win in the second half of the season.........I can't decide if he'll make the top step in year 1, but by his 2nd he'll be a regular winner, and will probs win the title in 2015....if he hasn't damaged his body too much by then!
