Expectation and anticipation ahead of the Spaniard’s maiden MotoGP campaign is already building after he impressed in two testing appearances in Valencia and Sepang. The current Moto2 world champion will race alongside Dani Pedrosa in 2013 but...

... can you still make a valid claim for Rookie of the Year in a factory team?

The only thing prohibiting a rookie taking the "Rookie of the Year " award over the past couple of years on in a factory team was the fact that rookies were not allowed to ride for a factory team. Now that the rookie rule have reverted to pre-'10 regulations, I would imagine that Marquez would be eligible to compete for the accolade.

Crasher

Mark Marquez is a good rider but some of the stunts he pulled in MOTGP2 he wont get away with on a MOTOGP bike. He isnt going to be the blueeyed boy in MOTOGP and if he tries to knock other riders of he will be banned. The other problem he will have is Danny Who is going to be no push over. Summing him up. He is an extremely qiuck rider but he is an accident waiting to happen

The next Simoncelli ?

Raw talent but haphazard.  He's shown good race craft and tire conservation in Moto2.  I think he'll show in testing, running laps by himself,  that he can post times close to the top making everyone think he's a contender.  But come first race when he has to go bar to bar in the *cough, cough* premier class, we'll see him take a good bullying, and see him knocked down to mid pack.  Hopefully he won't take anyone out because he thinks he needs to podium right away for HRC.  No question he'll be ahead of the CRTs though.
