Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner clash over Laguna ’08 again

Long running tension and animosity between Valentino Rossi and Casey Stoner is showing no sign of letting up, despite the Australian’s retirement from MotoGP at the end of the season. The trigger for another clash has once again been the controversial and famous clash between the pair at Laguna Seca in 2008. In an interview with Dainese’s Legends magazine, Ducati flop Rossi...

Well said redracer46.

Wouldn’t it say a lot about the state of motogp and the people on here if they commented on stuff that wasn’t 4 years old. Shame on MCN journo’s too for continuing to fan the desperately old flames of all this ridiculous rubbish – a weekly publication at the end of 2012 is still recycling 2008. Desperate on many levels and for many reason.

In fairness...

It's not really MCN's interview... it was one Rossi did for Dainese, that was then picked up by MotoGP.com. In it he also bemoans the fact that MotoGP is now populated by actual sportsmen rather than the partygoers he was used to... oh for the good old days, eh?

"In the last few years, the sport has become too serious and so have the riders. In the past, it was more just about bravery but now everybody is more serious and very athletic. They diet and train a lot and don't have a normal life. I think it's important to be able to have fun too!”

ambition and talent

Rossi won titles in 125, 250, 500, 990 and 800s Stoner only 800 and l000, failed in 125 250 and 990 Lets drop the Stoner was a god bullshit, A were talented lad Yes but an adaptable genius with no peers ??? do me a favour..... As for rough riding ,throwing his weight around and acting like a bully over his status, Casey needs to look in the mirror before he throws any stones

Rossi is bang on.

That race between Rossi and Stoner was fantastic. Stoner’s bitchy comments after it are what put me off the guy. He should have just taken it on the chin and come back at him, I’d have respected him for that. Rossi got inside his head and Stoner couldn’t handle it, presumably why he had to take his little break and has been so bitchy over the years. Stoners the one running scared crying off at 27.

Looser...

Stoner is an ass... He never accepted loosing, never accepted critics, that's why he is going fishing now and bring the big fishes home, safe, the only place he can find unconditional love... Bug off! He was going around like a cock hitting people in qualification, first Abraham, then de Puniet... Rossi always had humor, he always accepted apologies... Why didn't Stoner showed respect to him when he gave his hand? Lactose hurting perhaps? Bad looser, bad player and yes, he was a coward then and now. Lorenzo kicked his ass all the way... He, like everybody else can only win on the best bike. He rode the Duke like hell but the Ducati was the best of the pack. He did the same with the Honda... Only that Vale did it 9 times... I am starting to believe that Rossi is not feeling so brave now that you went away you sorry ass cangooro, I think he is playing with your mind again little ass, to provoque you to come back and quick your ass again cause he could'nt do it on the slower Duke... On the same level bikes you are history... Oh, sorry, you are history already, you quited to go fishing when your team mate started also to quick your ass...

Stoner done himself no favours after this race. I cringed tbh. As for falling off in the manner that he did after such a battle.................comedy classic lol.
